Time is intangible there are very few things in life more valuable than time. We are given 24 hours each day to complete some of our priorities in life. We must use our time wisely because we can’t stop time, bring back time, slow down time or make it go faster. One thing we can do is learn to manage our time and ensure we are spending it wisely.

The first indication of time management problems are: missing important meetings, not meeting deadlines, pushing important things off to the next day, keeping long hours at the office because you were unable to get your work done in your 8 hour day or missing out on special time spent with family and friends because of unfinished work.

Effective time management will focus your energy on the things that are important to you.  You have to remove the fireman suit you’ve been wearing to putting out those fires while trying to keep up.  With a better sense of control, effectiveness and confidence, you can be urged on to great things.  Don’t get caught up by time wasters, plan your day and work your plan, focus your energy on the tasks that you have to do.  Utilizing a To Do List is a tried and tested way to manage your time and get tasks done; effective time management is about priorities.

Another common problem is not having enough time to do the things that must get done.  If you can’t get to all the items on your to do list, ensure that you schedule the most important things first by putting them in the order of priority. Prioritizing your To Do List can help you focus your time and efforts.
